Meet the Staff

Our current staff are listed below:

Kitai Hong – Director

Kitai, a qualified quantity surveyor, has been an integral part of BTSL since 2009 and took over the company in 2016. Born in Korea, Kitai relocated to New Zealand at the age of 11. Outside of his professional life, Kitai is a keen sports fan and enjoys life with his wife and their young son. His career is marked by dedication, skill and a passion for excellence.

Kaye Sinclair – Website Manager

The self-professed dinosaur of BTSL, Kaye joined the company not long after the North Shore office opened in 1998. She has worked closely with our website technician in the formative stages of our very first website to convey the intricacies of our company and how best to represent this online. Since then, she has worked through many, many changes and upgrades, both subtle and large. She is a mother of two and a grandmother to three boys who fill her bucket outside of work hours.

Celia Coyne – Business Development Manager

Living in Christchurch with her husband, Celia has a background in science (two degrees), publishing, telesales and marketing. She brings all these skills to her job at BTSL, but her personal favourite is chatting to people! Outside of work, Celia enjoys more chatting, landscape photography, samba drumming and art journalling.

Shona Smith – Contract Analyst

Living in Auckland with her husband, Shona joined the company in 2021 as our contract analyst. Shona is the one who trolls through the documents to find the correct trades required and releases them to our subcontractors. With a background in events management, she is often the one who coordinates our attendances at functions throughout the country. Shona has two sons, and two grandsons (who she shares with Kaye).

Ashli Smith – Website Assistant

Ashli lives in Auckland and is the mother of two boys. She assists Kaye with the management of the website during peak times. Ashli first joined the company in 2005 in an after school job capacity. After getting her science degree from Massey University, she spent a few years in the health field at North Shore Hospital. Since having her two boys, she has returned to BTSL part time. Ashli is Kaye’s daughter and she is married to Shona’s son, Daniel, and they own their own excavation company in Auckland (keeping up?).
